The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on engineering skills with technical leadership, product ownership, and a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and evolution of mobile applications across iOS and Android.
- Develop high-quality native mobile experiences using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Kotlin, and modern Android frameworks.
- Establish scalable mobile architecture, reusable components, modular frameworks, and engineering best practices.
- Own major product initiatives from technical discovery and design through implementation, testing, release, and production monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Security teams to deliver seamless end-to-end customer experiences.
- Integrate REST APIs and backend services while ensuring reliable data handling and efficient network communication.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, token management, and sensitive-data storage mechanisms.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, crashes, memory issues, and reliability challenges.
- Establish and maintain automated testing, code review, CI/CD, and release management practices.
- Mentor engineers, conduct architecture reviews, and contribute to the long-term mobile technology roadmap.
- Make informed technical decisions about shared mobile functionality and platform-specific implementations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience developing and shipping consumer-facing mobile applications.
- Production development experience across both iOS and Android, with deep expertise in at least one platform and meaningful hands-on experience with the other.
- Strong native iOS development skills using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
- Practical Android development experience using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and/or Android Views.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, including MVVM, Clean Architecture, modular design, and dependency injection.
- Experience with REST APIs, mobile/backend integration, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
- Experience with asynchronous programming, concurrency, application lifecycle management, and mobile performance optimization.
- Ability to take ambiguous requirements and deliver production-ready features with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated technical ownership, problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration across engineering and product teams.
Mobile Architecture and Engineering
- Experience designing reusable frameworks, shared components, and modular mobile applications.
- Knowledge of Swift concurrency, including async/await and Combine; familiarity with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
- Experience with networking, caching, offline functionality, low-connectivity scenarios, and error recovery.
- Proficiency in unit testing, UI testing, code reviews, release management, and production monitoring.
- Ability to optimize application startup time, rendering, memory usage, network efficiency, battery consumption, and crash rates.
- Understanding of platform-specific design conventions and accessibility best practices.
Security and Reliability
- Experience with iOS Keychain and secure storage solutions; familiarity with Android Keystore or equivalent technologies.
- Understanding of biometric authentication, OAuth, token and session management, encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- Familiarity with certificate pinning and secure API communication.
- Experience developing reliable applications that handle sensitive information and security-critical workflows.
- Strong focus on application stability, secure data handling, and production quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, banking, digital payments, digital wallets, wealth management, or cryptocurrency products.
- Exposure to stablecoins, digital assets, cross-border payments, or related financial infrastructure.
- Experience working in early-stage or high-growth technology companies.
- Previous ownership of mobile architecture or technical direction across multiple engineers or teams.
- Strong product sense and the ability to balance customer experience, security, performance, and business requirements.
- Full-stack development experience or a strong understanding of backend systems.
What Success Looks Like
