Label Rollout Consultant

Label Rollout Consultant is responsible for the hands-on implementation of PLP / ProLP rollouts across stores, warehouses, logistics partners, suppliers and markets. The role combines application onboarding, hardware deployment, printer setup, RFID validation, testing, and operational readiness activities.

The objective of the role is to execute standardized rollouts with minimal support from the Label Product Team while ensuring that printers, scanners, RFID infrastructure, integrations, and business processes are ready before go-live.

Responsibilities

• Collect rollout requirements and gather sample labels and business use cases
• Validate rollout scope and location readiness
• Coordinate with local IT, logistics, and retail teams
• Install and validate label printers, configure them in PrintAdmin, and perform calibration and print quality testing
• Install and validate required fonts and verify network connectivity
• Support replacement and troubleshooting of printers, and verify paper, labels, ribbons, and consumables
• Validate RFID printer configurations, test RFID encoding and EPC generation, and verify scanner compatibility and performance
• Support handheld device testing and validate RFID label quality and readability
• Execute end-to-end RFID process tests and coordinate issue resolution with infrastructure and the Label Product Team
• Execute rollout-specific PLP configuration, validate data streams and interfaces, and prepare test data
• Verify access rights and user setup, and support integration testing
• Execute rollout test scripts, conduct printer verification, perform end-to-end business process testing, production smoke tests, and collect evidence and sign-offs
• Execute cutover activities, monitor rollout during go-live, and support hypercare operations
• Track incidents and defects, escalate product-related issues to the Label Product Team, and maintain rollout documentation

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in label printing rollouts, including label printer administration, ZPL fundamentals, and PrintAdmin administration
• Knowledge of printer calibration and font installation and management
• Background in RFID label concepts, EPC validation, and RFID encoding
• Expertise in RFID printer, scanner, and process troubleshooting and validation
• Familiarity with printer devices, hardware troubleshooting, barcode scanners, RFID scanners, and handheld devices
• Proficiency in mobile printing devices (iOS and Android), network-connected printers, and USB and TCP/IP printer connectivity
• Knowledge of PLP solution and basic SAP understanding
• Skills in data stream validation, interface troubleshooting, and access and user management
• Understanding of production smoke testing
