  • Define the operating system’s functionality schedule to support product line programs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on design review needs and ensure the delivered system meets the qualification expectations of the product line.
  • Conduct testing and validation of the FADEC’s hardware and software to ensure it meets performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze data from engine tests to identify performance issues and work with internal application software, hardware, and supplier experts to identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Suggest ideas to increase efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication and leveraging product and technology reuse.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Partner with other Engineering teams, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers, to integrate control systems and embedded software with other engine components.
  • Lead FLIGHT DECK (Lean) initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and software quality.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a current US Government Security Clearance
  • 6+ years of experience in Embedded Software Engineering
  • Experience developing embedded software using programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, estimating efforts, and analyzing the impact of technology choices
  • Awareness of competitors and industry trends
  • Ability to ensure understanding of issues and present clear rationale, including speaking to mutual needs, win-win solutions, and balancing competing objectives
  • Desire to identify misalignment between goals, objectives, and work direction against the organizational strategy and make suggestions to course correct
  • Experience continuously measuring deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments
  • Persistent and positive, especially in the face of overwhelming odds and/or setbacks
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with the ability to delegate
  • Experience mentoring team members
