Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer – Process Engineering is responsible for leading and executing boiler process engineering activities for Steam Power service, retrofit, renovation and modernization (R&M), and new product introduction (NPI) programs. The role supports development of process engineering solutions for boiler systems, thermal performance improvement, steam-water cycle integration, emissions-related modifications, and fleet support initiatives.
The position requires strong technical depth in boiler process engineering, thermodynamics, heat and mass balance, combustion-related process considerations, and thermal power plant systems. The role works across inquiry-to-order (ITO), execution, product implementation, and validation phases, and partners closely with global engineering teams, regional stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional functions to support delivery of technically sound and compliant solutions aligned with GE Vernova standards for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Job Description

Job Description

  • Lead boiler process engineering activities related to thermal system analysis, boiler performance, steam-water cycle integration, and process optimization for service, retrofit, renovation and modernization (R&M), and NPI programs.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables such as process calculations, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process descriptions, operating philosophies, performance evaluations, and related technical documentation.
  • Analyze customer enquiries, tender documents, operating data, and technical specifications to support development of technically compliant and competitive solutions.
  • Support customer application engineering activities, including preparation of technical inputs for bids and proposals, compliance matrices, customer submittals, process schemes, technical deviations, assumptions, scope clarifications, and feasibility evaluations.
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders to explain proposed solutions, engineering assumptions, and application feasibility.
  • Contribute to opportunity assessment for boiler upgrade and retrofit packages, including emissions-related modifications and performance improvement solutions.
  • Coordinate with commercial, sourcing, execution, controls and instrumentation, mechanical, and project engineering teams to develop optimized and competitive technical solutions.
  • Identify and document technical deviations, assumptions, issues, and risks within assigned scope, and escalate complex concerns to senior engineers or technical leaders, as appropriate.
  • Work closely with global engineering teams, regional stakeholders, and subject matter experts to align technical solutions with customer requirements, fleet needs, and business objectives.
  • Participate in technical risk assessment reviews with global teams and subject matter experts to identify design, performance, operability, reliability, maintainability, and execution risks associated with proposed boiler solutions.
  • Support assigned inquiry-to-order (ITO) and project execution activities by preparing engineering inputs, completing deliverables on time, and closing assigned actions.
  • Ensure high-quality and consistent engineering output related to performance calculations, thermal assessments, design reviews, optimization studies, and technical evaluations.
  • Support NPI activities through evaluation of new or modified process concepts, product features, design changes, and engineering validation requirements.
  • Contribute to technical excellence through participation in design reviews, technical reviews, constructability reviews, lessons learned implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continue building technical capability in boiler process engineering methods, tools, and standards.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with applicable standards, customer requirements, product requirements, and business processes, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
  • Contribute to functional initiatives and metrics related to Life Saving Rules, Product Safety embedded in design, On-Time Delivery, Right First Time, Kaizen, productivity, cost-out, quality, and Lean Six Sigma.

Required Qualifications
