Could you help change the course of a young person's life following their first experience of psychosis?

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to join our Hastings Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service as a Lead Practitioner.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with people experiencing a First Episode Psychosis or At-Risk Mental State, helping them build hope, resilience and recovery at a critical point in their lives.

If you're passionate about recovery-focused care and want to develop specialist skills within one of the most evidence-based areas of mental health services, we'd love to hear from you.

The opportunity

Early Intervention in Psychosis services make a real difference.

Research consistently shows that timely intervention can improve recovery, reduce relapse and help people maintain relationships, education, employment and independence.

As a Lead Practitioner, you'll work with a small caseload of young people and adults aged 14 to 65, providing care coordination and specialist support for up to three years.

You'll have the time and opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships and work collaboratively with individuals, families and carers to support recovery and reduce the impact of psychosis.

This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians looking to develop expertise in a specialist area of mental health care while being part of a supportive, highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

What you'll be doing

• Managing a specialist caseload of people experiencing First Episode Psychosis or At-Risk Mental State

• Providing care coordination from referral through to discharge

• Delivering person-centred assessment, care planning and recovery-focused interventions

• Supporting individuals to maintain independence, social inclusion and personal goals

• Working closely with families, carers and partner agencies

• Contributing to triage, assessment and risk management processes

• Using NICE-recommended interventions and an assertive outreach approach

• Helping to prevent relapse and support long-term recovery

About you

We're looking for a motivated and compassionate practitioner who is committed to helping people achieve positive outcomes following the onset of psychosis.

You may be a:

• Mental Health Nurse

• Occupational Therapist

• Social Worker

You'll have experience supporting people with mental health difficulties, managing caseloads and undertaking mental health assessments and risk management.

Experience of working with psychosis would be beneficial, but we're equally interested in practitioners who are eager to develop specialist skills within a supportive learning environment.

Most importantly, you'll believe in recovery, hope and the potential for people to achieve meaningful lives beyond mental illness.

Why join Sussex Partnership?

Our Early Intervention in Psychosis services are highly regarded specialist teams that place recovery, person-centred care and evidence-based practice at the heart of everything they do.

When you join us, you'll benefit from:

• £2,000 Golden Hello or Relocation Incentive (subject to eligibility)

• A supportive multidisciplinary team with a wide range of specialist expertise

• Regular clinical, managerial and professional supervision

• Access to specialist psychosis training and university-accredited courses

• Flexible and remote working opportunities where service needs allow

• Excellent career development opportunities within one of the UK's leading mental health trusts

• Strong professional networks across all Sussex EIP services

Why choose Early Intervention in Psychosis?

This role offers something different from traditional community mental health positions.

You'll have the opportunity to work intensively with people at a crucial stage of their mental health journey, helping them build confidence, regain independence and achieve recovery goals that can have a lasting impact on the rest of their lives.

For many clinicians, EIP represents some of the most rewarding and evidence-based work within mental health services.
