Job Description

Al Turath Engineering Consultant LLC is looking for an experienced Lead Urban Planner to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading urban planning and masterplanning projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality planning solutions in line with Dubai authority requirements and international best practices.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and manage urban planning and masterplanning projects through various stages, including pre-concept, concept, and detailed masterplan.
Develop urban planning strategies, masterplans, development frameworks, and urban design proposals.
Coordinate effectively with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, and relevant authorities.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to urban planners and designers within the team.
Conduct research, site analysis, spatial analysis, and development assessments to inform planning strategies.
Prepare and review masterplans, planning reports, presentations, technical documents, and development proposals.
Ensure project deliverables comply with Dubai planning regulations, authority requirements, and applicable planning policies.
Engage with clients, stakeholders, and government authorities to understand development objectives and facilitate approvals.
Manage project deliverables, timelines, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Support senior management in business development and preparation of technical proposals for new opportunities.
Mentor junior and mid-level planning professionals and contribute to the development of the wider planning team.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
10–15 years of relevant professional experience in urban planning, urban design, or masterplanning consultancy.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with a consultancy in Dubai – Mandatory.
Proven experience delivering large-scale masterplans, urban development projects, conceptual plans, and development strategies.
Strong knowledge of Dubai planning regulations, development processes, authority requirements, and planning frameworks.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing complex project environments.
Strong understanding of urban planning and urban design principles.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within agreed timelines.
Proficiency in relevant planning, design, and presentation software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar platforms.
Proven ability to take a lead role in projects and coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities.

Desired Skills

Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Professional membership or accreditation such as RTPI, AICP, RIBA, or equivalent.
Experience working on major urban development and masterplanning projects in the UAE or wider Middle East.
Experience in an international consultancy environment and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong understanding of current urban planning and development best practices.
