Position Summary
The position provides specialized support for systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, evidence-based medicine (EBM), and expert biomedical literature searching. It serves as the subject-matter expert in systematic review methodologies and related technologies, while designing and delivering advanced instruction and digital learning resources for students, faculty, researchers, and clinical/academic audiences.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and organizes the library’s systematic review, scoping review, and expert literature search services.
- Serves as the primary contact for faculty, researchers, students, and clinicians providing expert assistance in the conduct of systematic reviews, including use of systematic review software tools.
- Provides guidance on systematic review methodologies, reporting standards, and evidence synthesis tools and platforms.
- Monitors developments in evidence-based medicine, systematic review methodologies, information retrieval technologies, and scholarly communications.
- Identifies, assesses, and recommends innovative tools, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve library services within the assigned portfolio.
- Designs, conducts, and documents comprehensive literature searches across biomedical and health sciences databases.
- Supports research teams in the analysis, organization, and management of literature review projects.
- Designs, develops, and delivers instruction on evidence-based medicine and systematic reviews and other related topics as required in classrooms or virtual settings tailoring instruction to specific audience.
- Develops and updates instructional materials, guides, tutorials, and learning resources related to evidence-based practice and information literacy.
- Curates, creates, and maintains relevant content for website, research guides, and learning management systems.
- Partners with other librarians and educational technology teams to develop online learning modules, tutorials, and curriculum-integrated educational resources.
- Collaborates with assigned faculty members and medical education to define expectations and desired learning outcomes.
- Contributes to the development of specialized collections, research support resources and other ad-hoc projects.
- Serves on the reference desk, answers general reference questions, and provides consultation services for library users.

Education
- Master's Degree
Experience
American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science or international equivalent with 3 - 5 years’ experience in an academic library or clinical research environment.
Prior teaching experience in evidence-based medicine and experience in evidence synthesis, scoping reviews, is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of learner-centered instructional methods for adult learners, development of educational materials within learning management systems, and expert searching of biomedical literature and health sciences databases.
- Extensive knowledge of Integrated Library Systems (ILS), open-access web tools and emerging library technologies.
- Ability to multi-task and manage projects within demanding timeframes.
- High attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to provide a customer-focused service with advanced organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation (QF).
