More about your role:
At NASK, we're managing the system infrastructure and developing software that directly supports national security missions. We're looking for a Linux System Administrator / Developer who enjoys implementing and maintaining the computer infrastructure used to build high-performance software and develop real-time signal processing applications. You will assist with the day-to-day operational maintenance, support and upgrade of a large Linux-based physical and virtual computing cluster. This computing cluster runs an automated SIGINT processing system that is used to analyze our adversaries’ technical capabilities in a variety of warfighting domains. This role requires reconfiguring physical and virtual assets within the processing orchestration infrastructure to optimize performance to match current priorities.
Direct interaction and support to both application developers and end users is required.
In addition, this role involves developing software tools and utilities in a Linux-based development environment. This development will be used to augment and enhance the suite of signal processing tools used by our government customers. A thorough understanding of software debugging and troubleshooting methods will also be used regularly in support of legacy applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day maintenance and support of Linux-based systems.
- Develop software tools and utilities using Python and C++ in Linux environments.
- Build and enhance X-Midas applications, primitives, macros, and data processing tools.
- Automate signal processing tool sets within a high-performance computing infrastructure.
- Configure and manage cluster-based process orchestration tools.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Linux system administration experience, preferably with the RedHat/Rocky distro.
- Programming skills in Python and C++.
- Experience developing software in Linux environments.
- Experience working with databases such as MySQL.
- Experience with process orchestration environments such as Nomad or Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Up to date polygraph examination.
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
- Experience with X-Midas development.
- Version control using Git.
- Experience optimizing software performance.
