VP of Operations - Manufacturing
IL | Onsite – Relocation Assistance
Up to $240K + Bonus
Summary
Our client, a growing manufacturer of aerospace components, is seeking a hands-on VP of Operations to own manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and facilities across 2 U.S. sites. This is a high-mix, low-volume environment that demands equal comfort setting strategy and working issues directly on the shop floor.
Requirements
15+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, including senior leadership with direct P&L accountability
Demonstrated hands-on leadership style with regular, active presence on the production floor
Experience owning results across Quality, Delivery, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Facilities
Experience operating in a high-mix, low-volume (or engineer-to-order) manufacturing environment
Background in complex, highly regulated manufacturing environments (aerospace preferred; comparable regulated industries considered)
Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S)
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
US citizens or Perm Green Card Holders only
Bachelor degree in Engineering or a related manufacturing field
Responsibilities
Manage, develop, and lead the Operations organization across both manufacturing sites
Own results for Quality, Delivery, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Facilities
Oversee all aspects of supply chain including planning, sourcing, logistics, inventory, and on-time delivery
Drive site productivity improvements and continuous performance gains
Support growth objectives through both revenue goals and new product development
Coordinate budgets, capacity planning, manpower utilization, equipment, and facilities across all operations functions
Establish and maintain standard work, delivery, productivity, and quality metrics on the production floor
Develop, train, and advise managers and supervisors; administer company policies and procedures
Ensure operations conform to federal, state, local, and industry-specific regulations and specifications
Actively engage with employees, supervisors, and managers on the shop floor at both sites
Nice to Have
MBA or advanced business degree
Formal Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
Prior experience in aerospace component manufacturing
Experience operating across multiple manufacturing sites
