LPN - Central Carolina Surgery Greensboro Job Location: 1002 N Church St, Greensboro, NC 27401 Job Summary: We are seeking an LPN for our Central Carolina Surgery office located in Greensboro, NC. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves in a telephone triage role, providing clinical support, patient education, care coordination, and follow-up services to patients and their families. This position acts as a liaison between patients, families, providers, and the healthcare team to ensure timely communication, appropriate clinical intervention, and continuity of care. Job Duties: Answer and manage incoming patient telephone calls in a professional and timely manner. Assess patient concerns, symptoms, and needs within the LPN scope of practice and established clinical protocols. Provide patient and family support by addressing questions, concerns, and care-related needs. Communicate with providers regarding patient concerns, changes in condition, test results, medication questions, and clinical issues requiring provider review or intervention. Document all patient communications, assessments, interventions, and follow-up activities accurately in the electronic medical record. Return patient phone calls and communicate provider recommendations, instructions, and care plans. Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments as needed. Facilitate continuity of care through effective communication with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members. Perform nurse visits and clinical procedures within scope of practice, including: Suture removal Staple removal Drain removal Wound dressing changes Patient education and post-procedure instructions Monitor and follow up on patient concerns to ensure appropriate resolution and documentation. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and standards of patient confidentiality. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong critical-thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Strong customer service and patient-centered care skills. Ability to work collaboratively with providers, nursing staff, patients, and families. Job Eligibility Requirements: Work requires graduation from an approved or accredited Practical Nurse program. No experience required. Telephone Triage experience preferred. Current State of North Carolina LPN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). BLS required.
