Position Overview

International has multiple openings for experienced Maintenance Technicians at our San Antonio manufacturing plant.

This position will initially begin on Day shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, to complete training and onboarding before transitioning to the assigned Night shift schedule upon launch in 2027. The Night shift will be the following: Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with production planned to begin in 2027.

External candidates hired into this role are eligible for a $1,000 Sign-on Bonus. The first $500 is paid upon hire and the second $500 is paid upon successful completion of the 90 day introductory period. The Maintenance Technician roles are also eligible for relocation support which would apply to hires that live more than 50 miles away per our policy. The relocation support provides a total of $7,500, consisting of a $2,500 payment upon acceptance of the offer and an additional $5,000 payment after 30 days in the role.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for and involved in:

  • Maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Analyzing and Troubleshooting malfunctions of equipment related to components, diagnosing and correcting the problems quickly
  • Read and interpret drawings and Electrical schematics
  • Calibration of equipment (Fluid, Air and Fan)
  • Understanding and troubleshooting Safety and intrusion alarms inside Paint booths
  • Gun rebuilding (touch-up guns, Paint guns and BELLS)
  • Perform corrective and preventative work on all plant equipment
  • Booth and Oven Air Balancing
  • Conveyor and Reader knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate overall safe work behavior, including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adherence to safety guidelines
  • Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, paint and engine fluid process control systems, roll formers, plasma cutters and resistance and MIG welding equipment along with other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Breakdown; clean; rebuild, troubleshoot, and repair the following types of equipment: pumps, air motors, welders, fluid power systems, gear drives, heavy industrial machinery and controls
  • Daily application of mechanical/electrical aptitude and skills to solve production related problems
  • Rebuild various equipment based on written and oral instruction
  • Work with maintenance organization to resolve open issues
  • Diagnose equipment failures at the system and component levels
  • Work with the team leaders to perform scheduled maintenance on equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience in maintenance related field

OR

  • Associate degree in maintenance, mechanical or electrical related field

OR

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of and graduation from the Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program
  • 1 year of International Motors experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.   • Physical Requirements (Ability to do the following up to 10 hours per shift):
    • Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl
    • Climb using both legs and arms
    • Head/neck movement
    • Reach outward or above the shoulder
    • Lift, carry, push, or pull 15-45 pounds
    • Repetitive use of hands and fingers
    • Use of vibrating tools/hand tools
    • Depth perception required
    • Ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of color
    • Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces
  • Drive or operate equipment such as lifts and/or motor vehicles
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing systems
  • General understanding of industrial safety principles
  • Ability to self-manage work priorities
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance & troubleshooting of industrial systems.
  • May be required to work on equipment outdoors
  • Ability to work different shifts and overtime as needed
