Make an impact with NTT DATA
Join a company that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are renowned for our technical excellence and leading innovations, and for making a difference to our clients and society. Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.

Role Overview

NTT DATA is looking for an experienced Managed Security Services Solution Architect to join our APAC Cybersecurity practice in Malaysia, primarily supporting customers and pursuit teams across Australia and New Zealand.

This role shapes end-to-end managed security solutions across SOC, SIEM/SOAR, MDR/XDR/EDR, identity, GRC, vulnerability and exposure management, threat management and incident response. The architect will combine ANZ customer requirements with NTT DATA global cybersecurity capabilities, global and local SOC services, and strategic security platforms to create operationally executable and commercially credible services. The role is based in Malaysia, with potential future regional relocation opportunities for high-performing employees, subject to business requirements and mobility policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead managed security service architecture for ANZ renewals and new pursuits, translating customer risk, regulatory, technical and operational requirements into an integrated end-to-end service.
  • Design SOC and managed security operating models covering detection and response, threat hunting, incident management, governance, service levels, reporting, escalation and continual improvement.
  • Integrate SOC, SIEM/SOAR, MDR, XDR, EDR, identity, GRC, vulnerability and exposure management, threat intelligence, incident response and cloud security into a coherent service architecture.
  • Shape platform solutions across Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR, Palo Alto Networks Cortex/XSIAM, Google Security Operations (Chronicle), and other relevant SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR and security technologies.
  • Interlock with NTT DATA global cybersecurity capabilities, global and local SOC teams, APAC specialists, ANZ solution teams and strategic technology partners to assemble the right regional and global service model.
  • Shape transition and transformation including discovery, telemetry and log-source onboarding, use-case migration, detection tuning, tooling integration, knowledge transfer, service acceptance and stabilisation.
  • Design automation- and AI-enabled security operations using orchestration, response playbooks, analytics and continuous optimisation to improve signal quality, accelerate MTTA/MTTR and support scalable, FTE-efficient delivery.
  • Lead client workshops, solution shaping, architecture and service design, proposal input, assumptions, risk reviews, commercial inputs, solution presentations and delivery handover.

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in managed security services architecture, cybersecurity solutioning or complex security presales within a global SI, MSSP, technology vendor or consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of modern security operations and managed detection and response, including SOC operating models, SIEM/SOAR, MDR, XDR/EDR, detection engineering, threat hunting, incident response and automation.
  • Working knowledge of major security platforms including Microsoft Sentinel and Defender, Palo Alto Networks Cortex/XSIAM and Google Security Operations (Chronicle). Deep expertise in every platform is not required; integration capability is essential.
  • Good understanding of adjacent domains including identity and access management, GRC, vulnerability and exposure management, cloud and network security, threat intelligence and cyber resilience.
  • Experience designing managed service operating models and transitions, including governance, accountability, service levels, reporting, multi-supplier integration, operational readiness and steady-state handover.
  • Commercial awareness linking scope, telemetry/log volumes, licensing, retention, service levels, delivery locations, automation, specialist skills and resourcing to a credible managed security cost model.
  • Strong English communication and workshop facilitation skills, with confidence presenting to CISOs, CIOs, technology leaders and risk stakeholders and working across sales, delivery, transition, commercial, specialist centres, vendors and partners.

Nice to Have

  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Microsoft Security, Palo Alto Networks, Google Cloud/Security or ITIL 4 certifications; ANZ, regulated-industry, security transformation or major managed security pursuit experience is highly regarded.
