About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, U.S. FP&A, to join the Global Commercial Finance organization. Reporting to the Finance Lead, U.S. FP&A, this role will lead financial planning, performance management, reporting, and decision support for the U.S. Commercial business.
The Manager will serve as a finance subject matter expert and strategic business partner to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. This role will translate complex financial and operational information into clear insights, challenge assumptions constructively, and influence decisions across Finance, Commercial, Operations, and global teams.
The role will solve complex FP&A problems within the U.S. Commercial Finance area and lead high-impact activities across the U.S. Commercial P&L, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, forecasting, Annual Operating Plan processes, financial modeling, data visualization, and continuous improvement. The Manager will also lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen reporting, planning, controls, and the broader decision-making framework.
What You Will Do
U.S. Commercial Performance Management
- Lead the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of key performance indicators and business results across U.S. Commercial.
- Proactively identify performance trends, risks, opportunities, and challenges, and translate findings into clear recommendations for business and Finance leadership.
- Own regular and ad hoc reporting for revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and other key P&L areas.
- Develop a clear understanding of the underlying business dynamics driving financial performance and communicate results in a concise, actionable manner.
- Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and materials that support financial reviews, business decisions, and strategic initiatives.
Financial Planning, Forecasting, and Modeling
- Lead assigned portions of the forecast and Annual Operating Plan processes, including report generation, template management, submission review, and analysis across the P&L.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models, trend analyses, scenario analyses, dashboards, and reporting tools to support planning and decision-making.
- Evaluate financial assumptions, challenge inputs constructively, and communicate the implications of alternative scenarios to senior stakeholders.
- Support the monthly close process by leading operating expense analysis and reviewing other assigned P&L line items.
- Prepare and coordinate materials for financial reviews with senior leadership, including explanations of actual results, forecast changes, and key business drivers.
- Ensure that planning and reporting outputs are accurate, complete, timely, and aligned with established Finance standards and business requirements.
Business Partnership and Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with U.S. Commercial, Operations, Finance, and global teams to provide transparency into financial performance and support informed decision-making.
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to stakeholders by connecting financial results with operational drivers, business priorities, and investment decisions.
- Lead cross-functional discussions that address performance gaps, clarify assumptions, and identify practical actions.
- Provide guidance to colleagues and project teams on FP&A processes, financial analysis, modeling, reporting, and business partnering.
- Lead or contribute to U.S. Operations and U.S. Commercial Finance initiatives that have impact across related functions and business processes.
Process Improvement, Data, and Financial Technology
- Lead continuous improvement of financial processes, planning workflows, tools, and reporting to improve efficiency, consistency, and decision support.
- Develop data visualization content that clearly and effectively communicates the story within the data.
- Promote standardization, automation, and improved data quality across reporting and planning processes.
- Partner with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to enhance financial systems, reporting capabilities, and management information.
- Use tools such as SAP, Oracle, ThinkCell, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Anaplan, and OneStream, as applicable, to analyze and communicate financial information.
- Lead assigned improvement projects from problem definition through implementation, stakeholder communication, and adoption.
Controls and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with established company internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, review processes, and control evidence for assigned FP&A activities.
- Identify control or process risks and coordinate appropriate remediation with Finance and business partners.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Typically seven to nine years of progressive experience in corporate financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, or a related finance function.
- Strong track record of business partnering and influencing decisions through financial and operational analysis.
- Deep understanding of FP&A fundamentals, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, P&L management, and performance reporting.
- Experience supporting commercial businesses and working across complex, global, or matrixed organizations.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, PowerPoint, and FP&A tools.
- Experience developing dashboards, data visualizations, management reporting, and executive presentations.
- Strong working knowledge of financial systems and planning tools, such as SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, OneStream, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to senior leaders and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically, assess alternatives, and translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and navigate an evolving, high-energy environment.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with peers, business partners, global teams, and senior stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on delivering reliable financial analysis and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant advanced education or professional certification.
- Experience in commercial FP&A, pharmaceutical, healthcare, animal health, or another complex global industry.
- Experience leading finance transformation, reporting automation, planning system implementation, or data visualization initiatives.
- Experience managing projects or providing guidance to analysts, peers, or cross-functional teams.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $128,560 – $155,000 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.
This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
