Manual Machinist | Cleveland, OH | $40 - $50/hr Contract | Contract Placement | $1,500 Sign-On | Relocation Available

Mural Group is partnering with a marine services company operating an in-house machine shop in Cleveland, Ohio to place 2 to 4 Manual Machinists on a contract basis. This shop fabricates and repairs pumps, gearboxes, and marine and industrial equipment. If you are a manual machinist who can work independently, hold tight tolerances, and rebuild rotating machinery from the ground up, this is the shop for you.

What You Will Do

• Operate manual engine lathes, horizontal lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses on a daily basis.

• Machine and fabricate parts; draw accurate prints for fabricated parts when needed.

• Diagnose incoming units, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and prep for shipment.

• Perform mechanical rebuilds on rotating apparatus including shafts, pumps, and fans.

• Work to tolerances of +/- .001 inch as a standard expectation, not a stretch goal.

• Use overhead and gantry cranes, lift trucks, and rigging equipment safely.

• Utilize multi-meters, meggers, and Baker instruments to measure winding and RTD resistance, fits, and clearances.

What You Bring

• 2 or more years of hands-on manual machining experience, or equivalent training.

• Ability to read blueprints and operate manual lathes of various sizes independently.

• Motor shop, machine shop, tool and die, or oil field equipment experience preferred.

• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.

• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and flex on overtime and weekends as needed.

• $1,500 sign-on bonus available. Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
