Posted Friday, September 11, 2026 at 4:00 AM ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy. The Market Solutions & Optimization Technology group performs design, modeling and analysis work for ISO markets; applies advanced optimization technology to ISO problems; and conducts interdisciplinary research in power system economics, optimization and engineering. The group provides a unique opportunity to work on fundamental and innovative solutions to challenging industry problems. We work closely with engineers and economists across multiple ISO departments and collaborate with various external research entities. As a member of this group, you will play a vital role in improving the ISO's markets, operations and planning, and your work will help shape the horizon of power industry. As a scientist in this group, you will apply knowledge and skills from a wide range of fields including mathematical optimization, economic theory and power system engineering to tackle major challenges in ISO's markets, operations and planning. You will also analyze the problems, design innovative solutions, develop prototypes and oversee the implementation.
