Join our team and help build the next generation of security platforms powering both Intrusion Detection and Access Control solutions used by customers worldwide.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of a common hardware platform that serves as the foundation for multiple product families. Working closely with Systems Engineering, Hardware, Embedded Software, Product Management, Manufacturing, Compliance, and Industrial Design teams, you will design innovative, reliable, and manufacturable mechanical solutions for professional security products.
Your work will directly influence product usability, reliability, manufacturability, installation experience, environmental robustness, and long-term product quality. The platform will support products designed to meet demanding security and certification requirements, including EN 50131 Grade 3 compliance for professional intrusion detection systems.
Role Description
- Mechanical design engineer contributing to the development of advanced security products.
- Participates in the design and evolution of a common platform supporting both Intrusion and Access Control product families.
- Translates product and system requirements into robust mechanical designs.
- Supports the complete product lifecycle from concept and development through verification, certification, manufacturing, and sustaining.
- Works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
- Contributes to new product development, sustaining activities, productivity improvements, and Value Engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs for security devices, control panels, peripherals, and related accessories.
- Design plastic, sheet metal, and assembled mechanical components for embedded electronic products.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and product documentation using SolidWorks.
- Support the development of a common enclosure and mechanical architecture across product families.
- Ensure designs support installation, serviceability, manufacturability, cost, and reliability requirements.
- Define and execute mechanical validation and environmental test plans.
- Collaborate with Hardware and Embedded Software teams to support product integration activities.
- Participate in design reviews and technical risk assessments.
- Support compliance and certification activities, including products requiring EN 50131 Grade 3 certification.
- Support manufacturing, supplier qualification, and production ramp-up activities.
- Participate in Value Engineering initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, and component availability.
- Cooperate with external suppliers, tooling vendors, and manufacturing partners.
- Maintain and update technical.
- Prepare and review laboratory test requests, reports, and validation results.
Requirements & Technical Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in product design and development.
- Minimum 2 years of experience using CAD tools for mechanical design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and engineering documentation.
- Experience designing mechanical components for electronic or electromechanical products.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as: injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, assembly processes.
- Experience preparing engineering drawings and product documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently drive design tasks and manage priorities.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing products for security, access control, intrusion detection, fire safety, or IoT applications.
- Familiarity with EN 50131 requirements and certification processes.
- Experience designing outdoor or environmentally challenging products.
- Knowledge of environmental, vibration, durability, and reliability testing.
- Experience with mechanical tolerance analysis and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Experience with Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies.
- Familiarity with Value Engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
- Experience working with international manufacturing partners and suppliers.
- Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.

Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
