About the Role
Join the engineering team at a Series A industrial recycling technology company to design and build mechanical systems for automated metal sorting. This hands-on role spans equipment design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning in demanding industrial environments.
What You'll Do
Design singulation, conveyance, and material handling systems that deliver scrap to sensors at precise positions and speeds.
Own machine frames, enclosures, guarding, and sensor mounting, maintaining optical alignment amid vibration and harsh operating conditions.
Manage tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, design for manufacturing, and fabrication packages in coordination with vendors and machine shops.
Lead on-site installation, commissioning, testing, and field improvements.
Model throughput and uptime, and plan facility layouts, line balancing, and maintenance access.
What We're Looking For
Three or more years of mechanical engineering experience, with experience in the 3 to 7 year range.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and CAD, including GD&T and preparation of fabrication documentation.
Familiarity with servo and pneumatic actuation, PLCs, and FMEA.
Background in industrial automation, material handling, equipment design, or related mechanical systems.
Comfort working hands-on with fabrication, installation, and commissioning in industrial settings.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $135,000 to $190,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.
