In This Role You Will
- Design mechatronic systems for robotic manipulation: structural components, linkage mechanisms, actuators, and cable/sensor integration
- Own development end-to-end — from concept and system architecture through prototyping, testing, and series production
- Rapid-prototype new concepts to validate ideas quickly, then rigorously analyze (FEM, tolerance stack) and test in to lab to bring them to production quality
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing partners and internal electronics, controls, product, and deployment teams
- Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in mechanical engineering or related field
- 3+ years working experience designing and developing complex mechatronic systems
- Strong CAD skills (e.g., OnShape) and PDM experience
- Hands-on with rapid prototyping (3D printing, laser cutting), workshop tools, and prototype assembly/testing
- Solid grasp of common manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, tooled parts (e.g., injection molding), and precision assembly
- Curiosity to interface and collaborate with adjacent areas: electronics, software/firmware, robot control, teleoperation
- Fluency in English (spoken and written), with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Hands-on development experience of high DoF robotic systems (e.g., robotic arms, end-effectors, humanoids)
- Development experience of actuator systems (frameless motor, gearbox, housing)
- Experience in the design and integration of electronic PCBs and cable-harnesses
- Thermal management and cooling system design
