- Work on intelligent navigation, obstacle avoidance, and automated decision-making functionalities
- Integrate radar, lidar, sonar, and camera systems to improve environmental awareness and navigation capabilities
- Develop and optimize algorithms using machine learning, computer vision, and control technologies
- Perform simulations, testing, and validation to evaluate system performance, reliability, and safety
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and control systems
- Identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions throughout the engineering and testing phases
- Ensure autonomous systems meet applicable maritime regulations, safety requirements, and technical standards
Where you will work
You will join a leading Dutch developer and builder of advanced naval vessels and marine defence systems. The organisation specialises in designing, engineering and constructing technologically complex ships for international clients.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering department alongside specialists in mechanical systems, technical arrangements, safety and other disciplines. The environment offers exposure to technically challenging projects, where engineering integration, practical design solutions and collaboration are essential.
What You Already Have
- A Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related engineering discipline, combined with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5–7 years of experience
- Experience developing or integrating robotic, autonomous, or advanced automation systems, preferably within maritime or defence environments
- Solid understanding of robotics, control systems, autonomous navigation, or mechatronic engineering
- Programming experience with Python, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, or comparable engineering tools
- Knowledge of one or more areas such as sensor integration, navigation and guidance, systems engineering, modelling and simulation, or verification and validation
- Familiarity with machine learning, computer vision, sensor data processing, or communication technologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with specialists from different technical disciplines
- Ability to successfully complete the required pre-employment security screening
Your Benefits
