South Bend Medical Foundation (SBMF) is seeking an experienced AP/CP Board-Certified Pathologist to serve as Medical Director for our Kalamazoo, Michigan practice. This is a unique opportunity to step into a visible leadership role within a growing pathology organization that has served patients and physicians since 1912. This position works in conjunction with one of the Midwest's premier health systems. Why This Opportunity Stands Out SBMF is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit pathology and blood center serving hospitals, clinics, and physician practices throughout northern Indiana and southern Michigan. Our continued growth has created an opportunity for a physician leader interested in advancing pathology services within a well-established organization known for quality, responsiveness, and strong physician relationships. Highlights: • Medical Director responsibilities with significant influence on operations, quality initiatives, and service delivery • Partnership with executive leadership to support continued organizational growth • Affiliation with one of the Midwest's leading hospital systems • Approximately 14,400 surgical pathology cases annually at the Kalamazoo site • Diverse and clinically engaging case volume • No autopsy responsibilities Exceptional Compensation Package • Aggressive compensation package • Substantial sign-on bonus • Comprehensive relocation assistance • Generous incentive plan • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage • Paid malpractice insurance • Flexible paid time off As a 501(c)(3) organization, SBMF may qualify eligible physicians for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. Qualifications • Board Certified or Board Eligible in AP/CP • Prior leadership experience preferred • Fellowship training welcomed • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills • Ability to obtain unrestricted medical licensure in Michigan and Indiana Live and Lead in Kalamazoo Enjoy affordable housing, short commutes, access to Lake Michigan, year-round outdoor recreation, and convenient proximity to major Midwest cities for travel, sports, entertainment, and dining.
