About the Role
Join an applied machine learning team building production AI agents for complex accounting and finance workflows. You will own projects end to end, from framing problems and running experiments to deploying reliable systems that improve through evaluation.
What You'll Do
Design and evolve multi-agent architectures that automate real-world workflows, with clear autonomy boundaries, tool use, and fallback behaviors.
Build context and memory systems, agent loops, and model routing that balance accuracy, latency, and cost.
Create scalable offline and online evaluation pipelines, define benchmark tasks and metrics, and use results to guide product and architecture decisions.
Instrument systems to detect regressions, categorize errors, and support continuous improvement.
Develop prompt hierarchies, retrieval and indexing pipelines, and document parsing systems for structured, relevant context.
Build guardrails and validation layers, and own project scoping, technical documentation, implementation, testing, and communication.
What We're Looking For
Four to twelve years of machine learning engineering experience, with hands-on experience applying ML fundamentals in industry.
Experience building end-to-end LLM-based agent applications, including benchmarking, model orchestration, and evaluation of agent behavior and reliability.
Strong Python skills and deep familiarity with LLM and transformer-based systems; experience with Postgres is relevant.
A track record of structured ML experimentation, including hypothesis framing, evaluation infrastructure, and measurable iteration.
Experience in a fast-paced startup, quantitative finance, or similarly demanding technical environment, and enthusiasm for an early-stage company setting.
Strong technical communication and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly; a technical degree or equivalent fundamentals in computer science, physics, or mathematics.
Interest in applying AI to accounting, finance, and related workflows.
