About Testudo Testudo is a Lloyd's of London Coverholder building the risk infrastructure to insure the AI economy. We write generative AI liability insurance with the backing of four Lloyd's syndicates, alongside the real-time risk monitoring technology behind it, so that companies can deploy AI and agents confidently. About the Role As a Member of Technical Staff, Full-Stack at Testudo, you'll build the product surface our underwriters and producers use every day — the underwriting workflow, the broker-facing tools, and the documents that go out to the Lloyd's market. You'll be an early engineering hire with real ownership, sitting alongside the people who use what you build. When an underwriter tells you a screen is slowing them down, you fix it that week. Representative projects Building and owning end-to-end features across Next.js/React, Node.js/TypeScript, and Python + PostgreSQL. Owning the interfaces underwriters work in, including the quote and bind flow. Building the reporting and document generation that goes out to brokers, carriers, and the market. Sitting with the people using the product, watching them work, and turning what you see into shipped changes. Taking real product input — you will be asked what you think, not handed tickets. You may be a good fit if you Have 3+ years building production web software. Are comfortable across TypeScript/React and a backend language, with a preference for shipping over specializing. Have good design instincts, or at least strong opinions about what a bad interface costs the person using it. Operate with ownership; you bias toward action and unblock yourself. Relish direct feedback and want to work in person, at pace. You may not be a good fit if you Want a spec handed to you rather than sitting with an underwriter to work out what the screen should do. Are uncomfortable with direct customer contact. You will be in the room with brokers and underwriters, not behind a ticket queue. Think of front-end work as the part someone else does after the real engineering. Prefer remote or hybrid. We are in the office five days a week, and we work long days. Our stack Next.js/TypeScript on the front end. Node.js and Python on the back end. Python, SQLAlchemy, Postgres and Temporal for data and infrastructure. Compensation & Location $150,000 - $250,000 base + meaningful equity. We run a single band across every role at this level. We would rather pay the same for different kinds of hard problem than pretend we can rank them. New York. In-office, five days a week. We are able to sponsor visas for this role.
