Job Role:

We are looking for an experienced MEP Engineer to join one of our client in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in MEP design and site execution, particularly within interior fit-out, joinery, or design consultancy environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform cooling and heating load calculations using software such as Carrier HAP.
• Size ductwork, chilled water piping, and select equipment including FCUs, AHUs, FAHUs, and VRF/VRV systems.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, schematic layouts, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD for HVAC, firefighting, drainage, and water supply systems.
• Coordinate MEP services with interior design, architectural, electrical, and firefighting requirements and resolve any spatial conflicts before site execution.
• Ensure MEP designs comply with applicable UAE regulations and requirements of authorities such as Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defense, DDA, and DEWA.
• Prepare material submittals, technical compliance sheets, BOQs, and other technical documentation.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and contractor submissions before execution.
• Manage and monitor day-to-day HVAC and MEP installation works on site.
• Supervise the installation of VRF/VRV systems, ductwork, chilled water piping, FCUs, AHUs, and ventilation systems.
• Direct technicians, ductmen, pipe fitters, and subcontractors and monitor daily progress.
• Assist with testing, adjusting, balancing (TAB), commissioning, and final authority inspections.
• Coordinate effectively with the Project Manager and other project team members to provide technical support.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
• Monitor contractor performance and daily accomplishments.
• Resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor MEP works throughout the project to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure proper implementation of MEP works in accordance with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of MEP-related works and activities.
• Coordinate and oversee the testing and commissioning of MEP systems..

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mechanical/MEP design, preferably with design consultancy or interior fit-out companies.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, firefighting, drainage, and water supply systems.
• Experience in preparing HVAC and piping drawings, designs, and calculations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Carrier HAP.
• Knowledge of HASS/DuctSizer and similar MEP design software.
• Revit MEP knowledge will be considered an advantage.
• Good understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and applicable UAE/Dubai fire and life-safety requirements.
• Strong knowledge of site inspections and MEP site execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines..
