MEP Estimator
Location: Louisville, KY

Our client, a well-established construction firm in the Fort Wayne area, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MEP Estimator to join their team. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs, pricing, and scoping for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction components.
- Develop competitive bids and proposals by analyzing project drawings, narratives, and specifications.
- Solicit, evaluate, and build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and accurate scope coverage.
- Price subcontractor and supplier bids, as well as self-performed work, with attention to detail and risk management.
- Identify and analyze project risks, site conditions, and constructability issues to inform estimate accuracy.
- Collaborate with the preconstruction team on material selection, bid strategies, and presentations.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and contribute to cost-saving solutions.
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive estimates from conceptual through final design phases.
- Lead estimating efforts on select projects and coordinate with internal teams throughout the bid process.
- Review estimates with project managers, superintendents, and senior leadership to ensure scope alignment and feasibility.
- Maintain and update historical cost data for benchmarking and future reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating in at least two of the three MEP disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
- Proficient with estimating software and digital take-off tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
