Metallurgical Development Lead Location: Onsite | Manufacturing & Laboratory Environment Employment Type: Full-Time Overview We are seeking an experienced Metallurgical Development Lead to serve as a senior technical expert supporting manufacturing, quality, and customer-facing issues in a production-focused environment. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role for a metallurgist who thrives in applied problem-solving and fast-paced manufacturing settings. Primary Responsibilities Lead metallurgical failure analysis and root cause investigations Lead metallurgical failure analysis and root cause investigations supporting manufacturing, quality, and customer claims Provide technical metallurgical expertise to production teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners Apply metallurgical analysis and modeling to support process optimization and new material applications Serve as a technical mentor and SME for early-career engineers Top Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field Significant industry experience in metals or materials manufacturing environments Strong background in failure analysis, applied metallurgy, and manufacturing support Desired Qualifications Master's degree preferred; experience in steel or heavy metals manufacturing a plus; exposure to computational modeling; ability to mentor junior engineers Additional Details Onsite role with minimal travel Competitive salary plus full health and retirement benefits Relocation assistance available U.S. work authorization required (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
