Actual Salary - £3,738.13 At Hurst Green Church of England Primary School & Nursery, lunchtime play is a key part of our children's development through our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme. OPAL supports children to develop creativity, independence, resilience, problem-solving skills and positive relationships through high-quality, inclusive play opportunities. As an MDSA, you will play an important role in facilitating and encouraging meaningful play experiences, helping children to engage safely, build friendships, develop social skills and enjoy active, purposeful lunchtimes. You will work alongside staff to create a positive play environment where every child can thrive, develop confidence and return to the classroom ready to learn.
We recognise that flexibility is important and therefore this role may be combined with other positions currently advertised within the school to create a larger number of working hours. We welcome applications from candidates interested in undertaking multiple roles and would be pleased to discuss how these opportunities might be combined to suit both the successful applicant and the needs of the school.
Key responsibilities:
• Supervise active play outdoors, lead or encourage games, and promote fair play and inclusive behaviour.
• Refer any first aid incidents to our first aid team.
• Implement the school’s behaviour policy using praise and gentle encouragement to resolve minor playground issues.
• Maintain a watchful eye on children’s safety and report any concerns following school safeguarding procedures.
• Assist children in the dining hall, ensuring they have a positive and enjoyable meal experience.
• Experience of working with young children is desirable, as it will enhance your ability to engage effectively with our students.
We offer:
•
Happy, well-behaved children who love learning.
•
A high-performing school where pupils have achieved SATs results above national averages for several consecutive years.
•
A welcoming and supportive staff team.
•
A caring and inclusive school community.
•
Excellent CPD and career progression opportunities.
•
Employee benefits package: Perkbox: Access exclusive discounts, cashback, wellbeing support, and fantastic rewards to help you save money and feel your best.
If you are passionate about making a difference and developing your career in education, we would love to hear from you.
