Who we are
We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.
When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.
What’s the opportunity?
Build your career underground while working with some of the mining industry's most advanced survey technology. As a Mine Surveyor (Underground), you'll play a critical role in supporting safe and efficient underground mining operations while developing your expertise in modern survey practices, digital workflows and emerging technologies.
Working an 8:6 roster, you'll enjoy genuine work life balance while contributing to one of Australia's premier gold mining operations. You'll be part of a collaborative Technical Services team, working closely with Operations and Geology to support both daily production activities and longer-term mine development projects.
Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Senior Mining Surveyor, you'll:
- Deliver accurate survey data that supports safe and efficient underground operations.
- Influence mine development through survey set out, heading mark-ups and project support.
- Contribute to critical monitoring activities including void management and ground movement surveys.
- Partner with Operations and Geology teams to coordinate short and longer-term project work.
- Help shape continuous improvement initiatives, survey procedures and future ways of working.
- Gain exposure to innovative technologies including drones, LiDAR, point cloud modelling and advanced digital survey tools.
Why Cowal Gold Operations?
At Cowal, our never-say-never attitude has led to mine life extension to 2042 as we have boldly reimagined our future. We took our operations there underground in just seven years. Today, you can work on the surface or underground. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers. Live nearby and enjoy the regional lifestyle and close-knit communities. The future here is bright; you could be part of it.

- Experience working in underground mining or a similar surveying environment.
