The National Systems Group (NSG) serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The MOD/COMM/MS&O (MCM) Enterprise Services Branch under NSG serves as the technical advisor to the government’s efforts providing Operations, IT Services, and Facility services to the Enterprise. The MCM/COMM IT Services Office supports the government’s COMM Directorate and its delivery of IT Services through a wide range of Aerospace core competences. We are looking for a Retiree Casual R3 to provide Network Engineering expertise for the MCM Branch.

This is a part-time casual based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work. This is a part-time casual position with limited hours.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and recommend strategic solutions to meet the customer’s current and evolving network systems requirements
  • Recommend and assess concept studies, performance analyses, and conduct risk assessments
  • Assess new technical capabilities and their impact on the network enterprise
  • Assist in the application of legacy program lessons learned

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related field
  • 12 or more years of relevant experience
  • Proven expertise in providing network engineering solutions, technical analysis and impact assessments, tradeoffs, and market research, preferably in enterprise IT service environments
  • Experience developing technical roadmaps and architectures, preferably in enterprise network environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to include oral and written communication
  • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Experience or familiarization with COMM network technologies
  • Experience developing IC or NRO mission, system, or technology architectures
  • Experience assisting government customers with translating technology goals and objectives into tangible projects, schedules, and budget plans
  • Experience implementing Model Based Systems Engineering frameworks and solutions
