Neurodiagnostic Specialist - Epilepsy Monitoring Unit/Clinical Neurophysiology

Shift : Multiple Shifts Available · Day (with possible call and weekend rotation) · Evening (with possible call and weekend rotation) · Night (with possible call and weekend rotation) Work Arrangement : On-Site Department : Epilepsy Monitoring Unit/Clinical Neurophysiology Compensation : · Base Pay Range: $28.52 - $46.52 per hour, based on experience · Shift Differentials: o Additional $2.00 per hour for evening shift o Additional $4.00 per hour for night shift o Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shift · Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 o Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away o Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 o Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 · Note : Details will be provided during the HR interview. ABOUT THE JOB MU Health Care is looking for a dedicated Neurodiagnostic Technician to join our team and play a vital role in our Electroencephalogram and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION · Explain test procedures to patients prior to the studies and provide for psychological needs while in the laboratory to obtain quality test results. Differentiate the quality of procedure and patient cooperation for interpretive analysis. · Perform scoring and long-term monitoring review. · Collaborate with physicians, informing them of patients' psychological status and environmental conditions during procedures for consideration in the physician's interpretation of test results. · Adapt test methods and instrumentation in order to obtain optimal patient results. · Clean, calibrate, and process neurophysiology equipment. Report equipment and supply needs to leadership. · Recognize medically emergent situations and take appropriate actions. · Complete necessary documentation and billing. · Perform limited office, secretarial, and transport duties. · Meet all Patient Family Centered Care standards and patient experience goals. · Mentor Neurodiagnostic Technicians and Neurodiagnostic Technologists and assist leadership with new hire onboarding and training. · May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · Five (5) years of neurodiagnostic experience. · Any two (2) registrations (can be from same or different agencies): o Electroencephalographic (R.EEG T.), Evoked Potential (R. EPT.), or o Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET); or o Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists (BRPT); or o Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist ( R.NCS.T. ) by the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technicians (AAET); or o Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Graduation from an accredited neurodiagnostic program. · Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
