We’re looking for an experienced and motivated senior nurse to provide strategic leadership and coordination of the Northern Territory Trachoma Program, supporting high-quality trachoma prevention, screening, treatment and surveillance across remote communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced nurse who thrives in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment and can provide strategic oversight and practical coordination of Trachoma Program operations within the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) Central Australia.

Working collaboratively with CDC teams, remote health services and internal and external stakeholders, you will lead and coordinate program activities across identified at-risk communities. The role includes oversight of remote trip planning and service delivery, data management and reporting, workforce coordination, recruitment and procurement.

You will provide contemporary management of human, material and financial resources while supporting excellence in nursing practice, service quality and clinical governance. A key focus of the role is fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting staff development and ensuring safe, responsive and evidence-based service delivery.

You’ll bring high-level leadership and management skills, strategic thinking and the ability to successfully lead and support change in a complex multidisciplinary environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, together with an understanding of the social and cultural factors that influence healthcare delivery for individuals and communities. The role requires the willingness and ability to travel by air and 4WD to remote communities and, at times, reside in remote locations for up to a week.
