Join a Maui community health center as a Nurse Practitioner and make the move to the island with support built in. Your $10,000 sign-on bonus can go toward relocation. Credentialing takes about 4 to 6 weeks, which gives you time to plan the move. After that, you start with a 2-week onboarding with no patients and ramp up gradually. You’ll provide adult primary care to a medically complex, diverse community, with a dedicated RN and MA, protected admin time, and a first-name-basis team where every NP and MD is a provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent adult primary care: chronic disease management, acute triage, and preventive care
- Share a panel of about 2,000 patients with your dedicated RN and MA
- See patients in 15-minute slots, with the 4th slot of every hour left open for catch-up and walk-ins
- Rotate to the Kahana clinic 1–2 days per week and into an occasional evening shift (10 AM–7 PM)
- Join the weekly peer case consultation on Friday mornings and the monthly all-staff meeting
Qualifications
- Board-certified FNP, AGNP, AGPCNP, or ANP (AGACNP not accepted; this is a primary care role)
- Active Hawaii NP license or license-eligible
- 1+ year of independent NP practice (not a new-grad role)
- Active DEA registration with a Hawaii address (the clinic’s address can be used; DEA cost reimbursed), plus Hawaii state narcotics (NED) registration once your DEA is active (separate state fee applies)
- Comfortable managing complex adult patients with multiple comorbidities
- Open to relocating to Maui and interested in learning this community’s local norms
- FQHC or community health experience is a plus
Schedule & Compensation
- $135,000–$165,000 base | $10,000 sign-on bonus, usable for relocation
- Annual incentive up to $10,000 (the first tier alone earns $7,000)
- May qualify for federal loan repayment through the FQHC
- Medical, dental, vision | Malpractice covered | CE assistance | PTO
- Full-time, onsite | 40 hrs/week: 36 patient-facing + 4 protected admin hours
