(Full-Time, Days) $5,000 Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Assistance available. Pay range: $44.01 - $66.02 Schedule: 7:30-6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus and paid relocation assistance (in-state or out-of-state, amount based on location). Bonuses are available to external candidates only with at least one year of relevant experience who have not been employed by St. Charles Health System within the past year. All bonuses are subject to applicable tax withholdings. ST. CHARLES HEALTH SYSTEM JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Occupational Therapist REPORTS TO POSITION: Rehabilitation Supervisor or Manager DEPARTMENT: Rehabilitation DATE LAST REVIEWED: August 2024 OUR VISION: Creating America’s healthiest community, together OUR MISSION: In the spirit of love and compassion, better health, better care, better value OUR VALUES: Accountability, Caring and Teamwork DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: The Rehabilitation Department provides therapy and nursing services to patients, families and patient’s caregivers including: Rehabilitation Nursing Care, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. Our department operates as a system department and provides services to Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility, Home Health and Outpatient settings across four campuses. Our Rehabilitation departments offer a variety of specialty services across the various services delivery areas. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and provides treatment and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring physician. Works with family and team members regarding patient’s abilities and goals. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: RESPONSIBILITIES: Adheres to Oregon State Occupational Therapy Licensing Board. Provides occupational therapy evaluation and treatment to achieve desired outcomes. Provides staff consultation and training. Provides community resource knowledge and referral services. Provides occupational therapy services to other hospital service areas. May be required to drive Rehabilitation van and meet all related SCHS vehicle policy requirements. Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Care Team to assure patient care is accomplished effectively and efficiently in a cost effective manner. Participates in clinical care conferencing. Gathers data and accurately documents information in a timely manner demonstrating compliance with departmental and professional regulations. Participates with team members in facilitating patient’s and family’s learning throughout the continuum of care. Reinforces patient’s continued health care through teaching and/or referral to community agency follow-up. Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization in all respects. Supports Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change. Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests. Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the organization’s corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings. Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate. May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned. EDUCATION: Required : Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association Preferred : N/A LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Required : Must have necessary requisites for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Oregon State Board of Health. Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements. Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St. Charles Health System worksites. Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification. Preferred : A member in good standing of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). See additional position information for preferred certification list. EXPERIENCE: Required : Must have one year of experience with therapy procedures, current orthopedic and neurological follow-up procedures, and rehabilitation practices. Preferred : Previous occupational therapy experience in a hospital based setting. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely. RESNA: Assistive Technology Provider (ATP). Hand Therapy Certification Commission: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). International Loving Touch Foundation: Certified Infant Massage Instructor Certification (CIMI). Evergreen Certifications: Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). ADHD-Certified Rehabilitation Services Provider (ADHD-RSP). Physiological Oncology Rehab Institute: PORi Certification for oncology therapy (PORi) Neurorecovery Unlimited: Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS) Neonatal Therapy Certification Board: Neonatal Therapy Certification (NTCB) Additional Skills Needed Communication/Interpersonal Demonstrates St. Charles Health System values of Accountability, Caring and Teamwork in every interaction. Computer Basic to intermediate ability and experience in computer applications, specifically electronic medical records system and MS Office. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continually (75% or more): Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the abilit y to hear normal speech level. Frequently (50%): Sitting, lifting/carrying/ pushing or pulling 1-25 pounds. The use and operation of a motor vehicle for Home Health and Wound Caregivers. Occasionally (25%): Bending, stooping/kneeling/crouching, climbing ladder/ step-stool (varies by area), reaching overhead, lifting/carrying/ pushing or pulling 25-50 pounds, grasping/squeezing, ability to hear whispered speech level. Rarely (10%): Climbing stairs. Never (0%) : Climbing ladder/ step-stool (varies by area) , operation of a motor vehicle. Ex posure to Elemental Factors Rarely (10%): Wet/sl ippery area, chemical solution. Never (0%) : Heat , cold, noise, d ust, vibration, uneven surface.
