Job Description

Operations Manager – Industrial Services

Lead people, service delivery, systems and operational performance across a specialist industrial services business in Rockhampton.

The Opportunity

Highpoint Access & Rescue is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operational delivery across its Rockhampton-based industrial services business.

You’ll lead people, workflow, scheduling, service delivery and operational improvement across a highly skilled technical team. You won’t need to be the technical expert — but you will need to know how to lead specialists, make sound operational decisions and bring structure to a busy service environment.

Working directly with owners Rob and Liz Stringer, you’ll help build the systems, leadership rhythm and operational capability that allow the business to continue growing without relying on the owners to coordinate everything personally.

Salary: $160,000 + superannuation. Relocation assistance may be considered.

About the Business

Highpoint Access & Rescue is a Rockhampton-based business providing technical industrial services across Queensland — including rope access, confined space rescue, height safety systems, and industrial training.

Led by owners Rob and Liz Stringer, Highpoint is a values-led company with a strong reputation in safety and a deep sense of responsibility to their clients and team. The business is entering a growth phase, including the implementation of new systems, a developing leadership structure, and readiness for sustainable scaling.

This is a team of specialised, capable, down-to-earth professionals who take pride in doing great work.

About You

You’re a calm, grounded operations leader who thrives on building capable teams and running efficient, safe, and reliable delivery. You’re hands-on, organised, and thrive on systems and data — you’re just as confident on-site as you are behind a screen.

You don't need to be the technical expert in the room. Instead, you're someone who can bring people together, ask the right questions, remove roadblocks, improve processes, and turn specialist expertise into operational results.

You understand how to lead in a hands-on SME environment. You’re comfortable working with limited layers and resources, making practical decisions and working directly with owners and technical specialists.

You bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy. You can hold people accountable while respecting the knowledge and experience already within the team.

Your New Role

This role will lead the entire operational function — from quoting oversight to job delivery, client satisfaction, team development, and systems implementation. You’ll create consistency, embed the culture, and free up the owners to focus on strategic growth.

This is a pivotal hire for the business and a pathway role with scope to grow into the future COO.

The salary for this role is $160,000 plus superannuation.

Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.
