RESPONSIBILITIES

Input and Gross Build

  • Collect, validate and load payroll inputs (new hires, changes, terminations, time and attendance, leave, allowances, bonus, overtime and one-time payments) against the payroll calendar and cut-offs

  • Process exception payments and off-cycle runs, including retro, arrears and correction items, up to the gross stage
  • Maintain payroll system data and configuration so that it stays accurate and up to date

Payroll Validation

  • Perform payroll validations on the gross build: input-to-output checks, period-on-period variance, headcount reconciliation and exception review (negative, zero or outlier pay)
  • Review payroll reports and quality assurance reports (hourly and salaried) to identify potential problems; contact field units or clients to resolve discrepancies
  • Work on payroll error reports and track corrections to closure
  • Hand off validated gross payroll to downstream teams with clear sign-off notes

Compliance, Reporting and Support

  • Apply local statutory and labor-law rules that affect gross pay (e.g. taxable and non-taxable treatment, social security wage bases, overtime and statutory leave or sick pay), and keep up with new legislation
  • Prepare reports compiling summaries of earnings, leave, disability and non-taxable wages, and support audit requirements
  • Respond to payroll queries about earnings and input promptly and professionally
  • Generate periodic and ad-hoc payroll reports for management
