BayCare Medical Group is seeking a motivated Pediatric Hospitalist to play a pivotal role in launching and shaping a brand-new pediatric hospitalist program at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to build, innovate, and leave a lasting impact on pediatric inpatient care. As a founding physician, the Pediatric Hospitalists will help establish clinical workflows, influence program development, and contribute to a culture of excellence from day one.

Join the founding team dedicated solely to Mease Countryside Hospital, an 8-bed general pediatric unit, and help create a pediatric hospitalist service designed around quality, efficiency, and exceptional family-centered care. Practice the Full Scope of Pediatric Hospital Medicine

Provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric care, including:

Pediatric admissions and daily patient management

Newborn nursery coverage

Discharge planning and care coordination

Pediatric emergency department consultations

Collaboration with specialists and multidisciplinary teams

Make an Immediate Impact

Work closely with nursing, advanced practice providers, care management, and hospital leadership to develop best practices, enhance patient outcomes, and create an outstanding experience for patients and families.

Schedule & Call Expectations

174 shifts per year with night call responsibilities, providing consistent coverage and continuity of care for hospitalized pediatric patients and newborns. This team-based model supports both quality patient care and physician work-life balance.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Successful completion of an ACGME/AOA-accredited residency in Pediatrics.
Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
PALS, NRP, BLS Certifications
Prior pediatric inpatient/hospitalist experience preferred
