The Department of Anesthesiology at Children’s Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Fellowship-trained Anesthesiologist and pediatric pain medicine specialist to join our inpatient and outpatient pain management service and perioperative team. The Section of Pediatric Anesthesiology provides care to more than 30,000 children annually in perioperative anesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine settings. The Jane B. Pettit Pain and Headache Center is a multidisciplinary team that offers inpatient and outpatient comprehensive pain care that includes the Integrated Healing Program, an intensive day treatment program for functionally impaired teens with chronic pain. Our pediatric anesthesiologists practice in a collaborative and supportive environment with world-class surgical and medical staff to provide opportunities for developing clinical excellence in a range of subspecialty services, that are integral in the academic, research, educational, and quality improvement missions of the institutions. Opportunity with Pediatric Anesthesiology Join an anesthesia and pain management service that currently consists of 3 pediatric anesthesiologists, 5 advanced practice providers, 5 psychologists, and a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, social workers, and nurses that practice at both CW’s Milwaukee Campus and regional sites surrounding Milwaukee. Engage in a busy practice that includes both OR as well as non-OR sites at CW’s Milwaukee Campus with a team of fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologists and a growing team of medically directed Anesthesiology Assistants and Certified Registered Nursing Assistants. Provide leadership and guidance to pain management and perioperative team members to optimize patient care safety, quality, and efficiency Collaborate with world-class pediatric physicians and medical staff with a range of complex cases Contribute to the clinical education of pediatric fellows, residents, medical students and other trainees Focus on a patient-centered approach to delivery of care and engage in a climate of inquiry and safety Participate in the academic, research and educational missions of the institution Build positive relationships with surgeons, proceduralists, nurses, technicians and other stakeholders Position Requirements: Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Wisconsin Completion of an ACGME accredited pediatric anesthesiology fellowship or equivalent Completion of an ACGME accredited pain management fellowship or equivalent Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Pediatric Anesthesiology; candidates with additional credentials, experience, and subspecialty interests are welcomed Compensation & Benefits Highly competitive compensation with a full benefits package, 2 weeks of CME and professional development allowance, occurrence-based malpractice insurance, 403b match, outstanding employer-funded health and retirement plan, generous relocation allowance, and loan repayment for new post-fellowship faculty Physician engagement and wellness is a core focus area Value highly placed on multiple avenues for academic pursuits including clinical and bench research, quality improvement, and teaching without a "publish-or-perish" culture Children’s Wisconsin Children’s Wisconsin is the state’s only independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. In 2024-2025, eight specialties were ranked by US News & World Report : behavioral health, cancer; diabetes and endocrinology; gastroenterology and GI surgery; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; pulmonology; urology. With over 70 specialties and 675 providers, CSG providers had 290,000 outpatient visits at 13 regional care sites, 73,000 emergency department/trauma center visits, and over 10,800 inpatient admissions in 2024. CSG anesthesiologists provide perioperative care for more than 25,500 surgical, interventional, and complex diagnostic cases.
