About The Role And Where You Will Be Working
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 1-2 Pharmacist to join the 70-strong Pharmacy Department at John Hunter Hospital in a permanent full-time role. You will work across clinical and operational services, with opportunities to develop your skills across sterile production, antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), clinical trials and services to the Rankin Park campus. We are a supportive team that values collaboration, professional development and good camaraderie. With our department currently undergoing redevelopment and state-of-the-art pharmacy facilities planned for 2027, this is an exciting time to join our team and contribute to the future of pharmacy services at JHH. Participation in weekend, after-hours, public holiday and on-call rosters is required.
About You
We are looking for a practising Pharmacist registered with AHPRA with no conditions on registration, who has experience and a good working knowledge of hospital pharmacy, or a strong community pharmacy background with a willingness to develop hospital pharmacy skills. Pharmacists seeking Grade 2 will need to demonstrate that they meet the requirements for Grade 2 under the relevant Award; applicants who meet the required timeframe and are working towards the remaining criteria may also be considered.
Requirements
Proof of eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration agency, Pharmacy. Must be able to demonstrate fulfilment of the criteria for grade 2 pharmacist in accordance with the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award
