Social Worker - Youth Mental Health

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 + weekly housing allowance + relocation assistance

Our client is a large regional Health Service delivering culturally appropriate and holistic healthcare across regional Queensland.
They are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of local communities and providing accessible, culturally safe services to young people and their families.
They are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their youth-focused mental health services and contribute to improved mental health, wellbeing and life outcomes for young people aged 12-25.
The Role
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Social Worker who is passionate about working with young people and supporting those experiencing mental health, trauma, family and social challenges.
You will provide high-quality, culturally safe and trauma-informed social work services across a range of presentations, including mental health, alcohol and other drugs, trauma, family issues and social and emotional wellbeing.
The role also provides the opportunity to participate in outreach services to remote communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide psychosocial assessment, intervention and ongoing support to young people
- Manage a clinical caseload involving young people with complex needs
- Develop and implement individualised care and support plans
- Provide therapeutic, strengths-based and trauma-informed interventions
- Undertake risk assessments and contribute to crisis response
- Support young people experiencing trauma, family and social challenges
- Work collaboratively with families, carers and other support networks
- Liaise with internal teams and external service providers
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical governance
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and case notes
- Contribute to group programs, service development and continuous improvement
- Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed and youth-centred practice
- Participate in occasional outreach services to remote communities
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- A Bachelor or Master of Social Work
- Eligibility for AASW membership
- Experience working within mental health, youth, community or similar settings
- Strong understanding of trauma and complex presentations
- Experience with psychosocial assessment, care planning and case management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A genuine commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and youth-centred practice
