An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Forth Valley Prison Healthcare for the position of Pharmacy Assistant. This post will be based at HMP Polmont.

The Pharmacy Assistant Will

  • Assist with the accurate and timely processing and supply of medicines within the prison, in accordance with specified procedures.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the Health Centre by supporting an efficient and accurate medicines supply process.
  • Respond to requests from healthcare staff and prisoners for medicines, dressings, sundries and appliances required to meet the needs of the prison population.
  • Participate in the control and distribution of medicines, both as named-patient supplies and as stock within the prison.
  • Participate in filing prescription Kardexes and generating stock-control documentation.
  • Help ensure that the quality of the service, environment and equipment meets the specified standards.

Previous Experience Working Within a Pharmaceutical Setting Is Required.
