Overview This position serves as Physician Assistant (IM) located in at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC), Fort Gordon, GA. Physician Assistant (Internal Medicine) A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Responsibilities As a Physician Assistant (IM) your duties will include, but are not limited to: Inpatient Clinical Care • Conducts comprehensive patient workups, physical exams, and clinical history reviews.• Orders/interprets lab tests, diagnostic imaging, and specialty consults.• Diagnoses conditions, develops therapeutic care plans, and prescribes medications.• Performs credentialed clinical procedures and emergency/crisis stabilization interventions.• Manages patient documentation, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries (securing required physician countersignatures within 24 hours).• Coordinates multidisciplinary care, patient education, and post-discharge follow-ups across ward, step-down, and ICU settings. Outpatient Clinical Support • Evaluates and manages acute, routine, chronic follow-up, and consultative appointments in the Internal Medicine Clinic as workload allows.• Writes outpatient orders and updates medical records. Qualifications US Citizenship required Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education. Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification. All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
