Pipefitter Welder - Colorado Refinery

Are you an experienced pipe fitter/welder with hands-on experience in piping, tubing, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and boilers, who can read drawings and ISOs, complete high-quality fabrication and installation work, maintain welding certifications, and safely operate a wide range of tools and equipment? Based at Suncor’s Commerce City refinery, the position requires strong communication and teamwork, and readiness to work. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of related fitting and welding experience with piping, tubing, shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and boilers A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor A bility to pass a 6G SMAW Uphill (2” super coupon) test proctored by Suncor inspection and maintain active status within Exceptional communication and collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups Responsibilities: Read and interpret drawings and ISOs to perform fabrication and field installations Fabricate and install threaded pipe, socket welded pipe and butt weld piping configurations Install valves, steam tracing (tubing), test piping systems, hangers, supports, maintenance repairs Operate all tools and equipment associated with this job such as carry decks, fork lifts, man lifts (articulating and scissor), basic rigging, and operation of pneumatic tools, electric tools, oxy-acetylene cutting and plasma cutting Maintain a welding certification with x-ray quality Location and other Key Details: You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd. Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, 5x8 hour shifts Monday through Friday OR 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, depending on business needs Paid overtime, often 100-600+ hours per year based on plant needs You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces This position is safety sensitive In alignment with Suncor’s value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employment Hourly Rate and Compensation Details: This is a union represented position under USW 12-477 $55.16 per hour with annual increases Competitive and flexible employee benefits package that can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of your life, including: 3 medical options (including HSA and FSA options), 2 dental options, vision coverage, and an Employee Assistance Plan Excellent 401(k) plan with up to a 6% vested match Suncor-funded Cash Balance defined benefit pension plan (vests in 3 years) Relocation support will be provided Think we are a fit?
