Role overview
We are looking for a Platform engineer to take ownership of Internal Developer Platform (IDP) development for powering HENNGE One, our flagship cloud-security suite serving over 2.8 million users globally. As a B2B SaaS leader in Japan, we provide mission-critical security solutions that empower enterprises to work safely from anywhere.
In this role, you will join the Platform team, to build,evolve and maintain our Internal Developer Platform leveraging cloud native technologies (Kubernetes) and AWS services. Your mission is to empower our product development teams to build, ship and run their applications securely and efficiently. To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong technical foundation in Kubernetes and AWS.

What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain Internal Developer Platform (IDP) using Kubernetes and AWS services
- Contribute to technical discussion to help define the architecture, roadmap and the future direction of the IDP
- Collaborate with product development teams to seamlessly onboard their product onto the IDP.
- Participate actively in code reviews, discussions and technical decision-making
What we’re looking for
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of experience working with production Kubernetes on cloud, preferably AWS EKS. (Note: please mention the exact years of professional experience with Kubernetes in your cv).
- 3 years of experience building and managing AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with ArgoCD and Kustomize and authoring/deploying Helm charts.
- Experience building and maintaining web application pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Ability to take technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fluency in English (Japanese is not required), equivalent to CEFR B2 level or above (e.g., TOEIC 785+).
While not required, we’d love to hear if you have:
- Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Certified Cloud Native Platform Engineer (CNPE)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or AWS Certified Security - Specialty
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
- Hands-on experience building custom Kubernetes controllers and implementing policy management tools like Kyverno .
- Experience with Backstage (or similar Internal Developer Portal frameworks)
- Experience setting up and managing observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Grafana / LGTM stack).
- Strong understanding of AWS security best practices.
- Track record of contributing to CNCF open-source projects or speaking at cloud-native tech conferences.
- Strong technical communication and writing skills (runbooks, documentation) to collaborate effectively across Platform and Product teams via code reviews and technical discussions.
- Conversational Japanese to coordinate with external vendors (e.g. AWS Japan), cross-functional divisions, and local communities.

Work Style
Flexible working hours with a designated core time (11:00–16:00), allowing you to organize your day effectively. Employees typically work 8 hours per day with a 1-hour break.

Tokyo, Japan — Shibuya Headquarters. (Will move to Shinjuku starting April 2027)
Compensation
Annual salary: Annual salary 8 to 10.5 million JPY (includes English Allowance and Physical Communication Bonus)

- English Allowance and Advanced Language Expert Allowance: JPY 10,000 ~ JPY 130,000 per month, paid alongside base salary, if the employee fulfills the requirements.
- Physical Communication Bonus: JPY 5,000 per day for coming to the office and interacting with other employees, paid out as bonus according to the number of days. Details will be provided at the offer meeting.
- Transportation allowance (maximum of JPY 35,000 per month).
