You've owned a platform at scale. Now build the one that produces training data for the world's leading AI labs.
A profitable, seed-stage AI company in San Francisco builds the environments and post-training data that frontier models learn from. Every leading US AI lab is a customer. Behind that sits an internal platform that produces the data at scale, and that platform is yours. You work right next to the research team, so a genuine interest in AI research matters as much as your infrastructure depth.
What you'll own
- The internal platform that generates post-training data, end to end
- Scaling it: throughput, reliability, orchestration and the data flowing through it
- The hard problems below the application layer: databases, networking, messaging, concurrency
- Close collaboration with researchers on what the platform needs to do next
Must-haves
- You were the owner of an internal platform and grew it at scale yourself; being a user of one isn't enough
- Real depth in distributed systems or concurrency below the application layer
- Real curiosity about AI research, on top of your love for infrastructure
- Happy to work on-site in San Francisco on 9-9-6
- Roughly 3–7 years of experience
Bonus points
- JVM experience (Java or Scala) and async I/O; Go or Rust also welcome
- Kafka, orchestration, data platforms or developer platforms
- Open-source maintainer of data or orchestration tooling
What's in it for you
- $250k–$300k base, one of the strongest packages around for this profile
- A cash-flow-positive company whose customers are the top AI labs
- Visa sponsorship available
Good to know
- Full-time, on-site in San Francisco, 9-9-6 (many on the team voluntarily put in more)
- The technical round is about finding bugs in real JVM and async code, not LeetCode puzzles
- Process: meet the founders → technical interview → work trial → offer
When you apply, please include
- Your CV (PDF) and your LinkedIn URL, plus GitHub if you have one
- The platform you were responsible for, how big it got, and the toughest outage or bug you solved
- Your current location, and confirmation that on-site San Francisco on 9-9-6 works for you
- Your visa or citizenship status, and if you'll need sponsorship, now or in the future
- Your base salary expectation, your notice period, and any other interview processes you're in
Does this sound like you? Apply now. If you're a match, we'll be in touch within 3 working days.
