About The Company
AI Australia provides business intelligence and analytics expertise to help organizations make effective use of their data and technology. The team works across data platforms, reporting, cloud services, and business applications, partnering with clients to understand their needs and deliver reliable, useful solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing practice and work on varied technical and business challenges.
About The Role
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will design, develop, test, and support data and reporting solutions across the Microsoft BI stack. You will work with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS Tabular, DAX, and Power BI, while contributing to data warehouse design, integrations, migrations, and process automation. You will collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, clients, and other stakeholders to turn business requirements into functional specifications and dependable technical solutions.
This position requires a willingness to live in or travel to Southern New South Wales or Canberra. A visa may be provided for a suitable candidate.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least eight years of experience working with relational databases, including SQL Server, and be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data. At least seven years of consulting experience is required. You should have strong expertise in the Microsoft BI stack, including T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS Tabular, DAX, and Power BI, alongside experience with data cleansing, large-scale data migration, and data insight generation.
We are looking for experience in data warehouse design, dimensional modelling using the Kimball methodology, data mining, OLAP, and ETL frameworks. Strong knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 services, such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Power Automate, is important. Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, JavaScript, PowerShell, and C# is also valued. Additional experience with IT project management, CRM software, and machine-learning-based predictive models will be beneficial.
You will bring sound business judgment, initiative, and a practical approach to problem-solving. Clear written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a willingness to learn new technologies and work collaboratively using Scrum.
Responsibilities
Design and develop BI solutions, Power BI reports, dashboards, data models, and technical components that provide meaningful insights. Build and maintain ETL processes, database objects, and data warehouse structures, and support the cleansing and migration of large datasets. Create process maps, data flows, and technical designs that meet business and operational needs.
Document business requirements for BI and application solutions, prepare technical documentation and functional specifications, and help translate stakeholder interviews into user stories, acceptance criteria, and simple wireframes. Work closely with Business Analysts, developers, and stakeholders throughout delivery. Test, debug, and resolve application and data issues, support project activities, and use scripting and automation to improve processes and reliability.
Benefits
The advertised base pay range is A$70,000 to A$120,000 per year. Actual pay will be determined according to your skills and experience. This role offers the chance to contribute to a growing analytics practice, work across diverse technologies and projects, and continue developing your expertise. Visa support may be available for a suitable candidate.
Equal Opportunity
AI Australia is committed to a professional and inclusive workplace. Applicants will be considered on their relevant skills, experience, and ability to perform the role. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and encourage all qualified applicants to apply.
