Practice Consultant - Occupational Therapist | 11438 | permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £45,268 to £49,818 per annum | Grade K | Greyfriars House, Great Yarmouth
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step into practice leadership? It is an exciting time to join our Occupational Therapy service, with the opportunity to influence practice, work alongside and support our Occupational Therapy team to grow and develop, and help shape how we deliver Occupational Therapy across East Norfolk.
We offer a £2,000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Occupational Therapists (grade J and above) new to Norfolk County Council. The payment must be repaid in full if the employee leaves within two years of starting employment.
Who Cares? We do.
Occupational Therapy plays a major role within Adult Social Care. We focus on what matters most to the people we support, listening, problem-solving creatively and helping people to maximise their independence and wellbeing.
The Role
We are seeking a Practice Consultant Occupational Therapist who is passionate about high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy practice within our Older People and Physical Disabilities team (East Place). In this role, you will provide professional supervision, case consultation and case management, working closely with the Occupational Therapy team to support their development and strengthen practice under the guidance of the Occupational Therapy Operational Manager.
Our Occupational Therapy service sits at the heart of delivering the Care Act’s vision. We focus on strength-based practice through functional assessments, equipment provision, and moving and handling to prevent, reduce, or delay the need for formal care services. You will work closely with District Councils to support the delivery of housing adaptations for our residents, alongside Social Work colleagues and wider partners, helping us to deliver an integrated, place-based approach.
We are looking for someone who will bring creativity and new ideas to the team, challenging us to think differently about how we deliver Occupational Therapy while maintaining an efficient, effective and value-for-money service.
You will be comfortable using data and evidence to understand our performance, demonstrate outcomes and show the impact Occupational Therapy is having for Norfolk residents.
What We Offer
At Norfolk County Council, we want our people to be inspired, motivated, and supported to work well together. We value flexibility and hybrid working, helping you balance professional and personal life. Our technology and equipment make it easy to connect and collaborate wherever you are. We ask that you have in place good broadband connectivity.
We are proud to have a Principal Occupational Therapist who leads and champions the profession across Norfolk County Council, supporting the profile, quality and consistency of Occupational Therapy practice across Norfolk.
We also offer an award-nominated preceptorship programme for newly qualified, new to social care or returning to practice Occupational Therapists.
At Norfolk County Council, we are committed to our employees’ ongoing learning and development, with all Occupational Therapists receiving a protected half day per month for continuing professional development and training.
