Ibotta is seeking a Principal Decision Scientist to join our Client Analytics team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.
This is a senior role for an analytics leader who pairs best-in-class analytics with a commercial, consultative instinct. You will own both the analytical work and a share of the business outcome it creates, partnering with Revenue to grow our most important partner relationships through measurement, insight, and solution design.
This role involves active participation across the full sales cycle. You will operate as a technical advisor in pre-sales and post-sales motions: assessing partner needs, designing custom analytical solutions, supporting the pitch, and converting analytical impact into renewals, expansions, and new commitments.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.
Not based in Denver? We will offer a relocation bonus to help make your move to the Mile High City a smooth one.
What you will be doing:
Partner with Account Managers and Sellers across the full sales cycle (pursuits, renewals, and expansion), scoping client needs into custom analytical solutions, measurement designs, and proposals, and guiding them through implementation
Participate in C-suite client conversations as the measurement and insight lead, translating analytical insights into business outcomes
Conceptualize, design, and deliver industry-leading, market-defensible insights, experiments, and measurement (i.e. incrementality, MMM, attribution), partnering cross-functionally to build scalable, repeatable solutions
Proactively generate and communicate data-driven insights, moving beyond what happened to why it happened and what the brand can do next using ibotta as a partner
Develop and leverage deep expertise in our clients’ categories, bringing category-level context to partner conversations
Mentor and coach junior/mid-level Client Analytics colleagues, and provide teach-outs that raise the capability of the broader team
Embrace and uphold Ibotta’s Core Values: Integrity, Boldness, Ownership, Teamwork, Transparency, & A great idea can come from anywhere
What we are looking for:
10-15+ years in experience in an analytics function in CPG / media agency side
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, statistics, data science, or a related field required
Hands-on technical proficiency in SQL, Python with experience using Databricks and Git/GitHub to extract, analyze, and work with data
Consultative and sales-cycle experience, proven ability to operate as a trusted advisor and to participate credibly in pre-sales and post-sales motion
Robust knowledge of industry-standard measurement and attribution models, including incrementality and MMM
Creative thinking and expertise in generating impactful stories, presenting these impactfully across all levels of a client organization
Proven track record of analytical work that has directly influenced revenue, renewals, or account expansion
Self-directed, highly organized, and able to manage multiple complex partner engagements simultaneously
Collaborative team player who actively elevates the people around them
Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings
