About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer and Tech Lead to build and scale the cloud systems behind custom AI model training and inference for enterprise customers. You will lead hands-on infrastructure work, partner with the existing infrastructure engineer, and help the team deliver reliable, secure services.
What You'll Do
Own and scale AWS infrastructure for model training and inference workloads.
Design deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code to ship models and services reliably.
Manage GPU allocation and cloud instance sizing, and optimize infrastructure costs.
Build monitoring, logging, and automated testing systems to improve visibility into service health and failures.
Develop and manage ETL pipelines, model versioning, and ML lifecycle workflows for varied customer data sources.
Strengthen security through customer data isolation, infrastructure hardening, and SOC 2 compliance work.
Mentor and collaborate with the infrastructure team while leading technical projects.
What We're Looking For
7 or more years of infrastructure engineering experience, including technical leadership on infrastructure or platform projects.
Hands-on engineering experience in a current or recent role, with a track record of building infrastructure systems from scratch.
Experience with AWS, or transferable cloud infrastructure experience with GCP or Azure.
Proficiency shipping software with Python, and experience building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform.
Experience working at a startup or early-stage company, with strong computer science fundamentals.
MLOps or ML workflow experience, GPU workload scaling, and cloud cost optimization are beneficial.
