Your unique talents will help shape the future of healthcare while building a career grounded in purpose, growth, and impact.

A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, we are committed to advancing healthcare through innovation and delivering meaningful solutions that improve patient outcomes. The Principal Marketing Specialist, Global Downstream Marketing - Thoracic Procedural Marketing, will play a critical role in driving global procedural adoption, commercial excellence, and market expansion across the thoracic surgery segment.

This strategic global marketing role develops and executes procedural growth strategies, leverages clinical evidence, engages key opinion leaders (KOLs), and enables regional teams to accelerate adoption of Medtronic surgical solutions in thoracic surgery. The role serves as the global procedural expert, connecting customer insights, clinical evidence, commercial needs, and portfolio strategy to drive sustainable growth. The position aligns closely with the Procedural Marketing organization's focus on expanding adoption in underpenetrated specialties such as cardiothoracic surgery.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Strategic Marketing Leadership

    • Develop and execute the global thoracic procedural marketing strategy in alignment with business objectives and annual operating plans.
    • Identify growth opportunities across thoracic surgery procedures and customer segments.
    • Build and maintain long-range procedural growth plans, including market development initiatives and commercialization priorities.
    • Partner with regional marketing leaders to translate global strategy into local execution plans.

  • Clinical and Procedural Expertise

    • Serve as the global subject matter expert for thoracic surgical procedures, treatment pathways, and customer needs.
    • Translate clinical evidence and product capabilities into compelling procedural value propositions.
    • Develop procedure-specific positioning, messaging, claims support, and customer-facing content.
    • Partner with Medical Affairs and Clinical Research teams to identify evidence gaps and support evidence-generation strategies.

  • Customer and KOL Engagement

    • Develop and manage relationships with global thoracic surgeon KOLs, societies, and professional organizations.
    • Lead congress and symposium strategy for key thoracic surgery meetings.
    • Facilitate advisory boards, customer insight initiatives, and global surgeon engagement programs.
    • Leverage customer insight to influence portfolio priorities, market development activities, and commercial strategy.

  • Commercial Excellence and Market Development

    • Lead downstream marketing initiatives supporting adoption, utilization growth, and procedure expansion.
    • Create commercialization toolkits, campaigns, sales enablement materials, and customer education resources.
    • Support regional teams with best-practice sharing and execution guidance.
    • Drive procedural awareness and market development programs in emerging and underpenetrated markets.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership

    • Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Health Economics, Professional Education, and Regional Marketing teams.
    • Influence product roadmap decisions based on procedural needs and market opportunities.
    • Support launch planning and commercialization efforts for new products and indications.
    • Ensure consistency of procedural messaging across global markets. These responsibilities build on procedural marketing activities focused on clinical evidence support, symposium coordination, evidence council leadership, and marketing campaign development.

  • Business Performance

    • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, procedure volumes, and adoption metrics.
    • Establish KPIs and performance dashboards to measure impact of procedural marketing initiatives.
    • Deliver recommendations to senior leadership based on market insights and business performance.
    • Contribute to annual planning, forecasting, and strategic business reviews.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
