Reporting to the Manager Process Engineering, your immediate focus will be leading the delivery of Process Safety Engineering activities for a key client partner across Onshore LNG Terminal, downstream Oil & Gas and emerging energy projects. You will provide Technical Safety leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and Pre-FEED through FEED and EPCM execution, ensuring safe, compliant, cost-effective and operationally robust solutions. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project management, clients, regulators and supply chain partners, you will be responsible for delivering technical excellence while supporting successful project outcomes aligned with Wood's standards, systems and values.

As a senior technical leader, you will balance project delivery, stakeholder engagement, team development and client relationship management, providing trusted advice and guidance to support informed decision-making and safe, commercially effective project execution. In addition, you will:

• Lead and deliver Process Safety, Loss Prevention and Fire Protection engineering activities across Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC/EPCM project phases, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance and safe project outcomes.
• Act as the technical authority for Process Safety Engineering, driving risk-based decision-making and the application of safety-by-design principles across facility layouts, systems and operations.
• Lead and facilitate Process Safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA, FERA, Facility Siting and Process Safety Case assessments, ensuring effective identification and mitigation of process risks.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance for firewater systems, fire and gas detection systems, firefighting systems, passive fire protection, hazardous area classification and other safety-critical systems.
• Oversee consequence modelling, firewater hydraulic analysis and specialised safety engineering studies, ensuring the application of recognised industry methodologies, standards and software tools.
• Manage, mentor and develop Process Safety personnel, supporting technical capability growth, resource planning, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the discipline.
• Support proposals, estimates, business development and client engagement activities while maintaining alignment with client requirements, company standards, applicable legislation and industry best practice.

Expected

You must hold (or be eligible to obtain) legal working rights in Singapore. Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and suitably qualified professionals requiring Employment Pass sponsorship are encouraged to apply.

Ideally, you will be qualified with a bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical (or related) Engineering discipline from a recognised institution, together with 15+ years of proven experience in Process Safety, Technical Safety, Loss Prevention or Fire Protection Engineering within the Oil & Gas, LNG, Refining, Petrochemical, Chemical Processing, Renewable or Emerging Energy sectors.

In addition, you will have:

• Proven experience delivering Technical Safety / Process Safety engineering across Concept, Pre FEED, FEED, and EPC/EPCM projects (greenfield and brownfield) with expertise in:
  • Process safety studies (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, PCS, Safety Case)
  • Firewater, fire & gas, firefighting, and passive fire protection system design
  • Hydraulic calculations, consequence modelling, and safety system sizing
• Proficiency in developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, data sheets, calculations, and technical reports
• Solid working knowledge of international codes, standards, client specifications, and local regulatory requirements
• Experience defining scopes of work and reviewing outputs from third party safety studies
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence clients, partners, and multidisciplinary teams

Desirable

What will set you apart will be your previous experience supporting Onshore LNG Regasification Terminals, FSRU developments, refinery or petrochemical facilities, coupled with experience using consequence modelling and hydraulic analysis software (e.g. PHAST, SAFETI and Pipenet).Chartered Engineer status or recognised professional accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
