Casting Process Development Engineer – LPDC
We are recruiting a Casting Process Development Engineer with a strong background in Low Pressure Die Casting (LPDC) to join a global automotive aluminium casting group in the Creil area (Hauts-de-France).
About the role
You will develop and optimise the product/process combination for casting operations, with a clear focus on LPDC, ensuring quality and productivity meet customer specifications. You'll play a hands-on role supporting the transfer of new products and production between sites across the group, and will be closely involved in prototype development from concept through to milestone delivery.
Your responsibilities
• Lead the development, optimisation and standardisation of LPDC processes to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost
• Translate strong theoretical LPDC knowledge into robust, practical production practices alongside process engineers and manufacturing teams
• Provide hands-on expertise in process troubleshooting, tooling validation, machine setup and new product industrialisation
• Support the design and validation of tooling, run development casting sessions and define process control requirements
• Validate technical solutions through simulation and trials
• Write reference manufacturing files and share development results and recommendations across the organisation
• Keep up to date with LPDC technologies and best practices
Your profile
• Proven, hands-on, on-site experience in a casting or foundry environment, with varied process exposure but mainly LPDC
• Able to coordinate activities across departments and sites, and to build strong relationships with production, quality, project teams and suppliers
• Open to international travel to support other group sites (e.g. India, USA)
• Professional English required. French is a plus but not essential; if you don't speak French, a willingness to learn is expected.
What's on offer
• Real technical ownership at the heart of new product development and industrialisation within a global industrial group
• International exposure
• Full relocation support for you and your family, including moving costs
• French lessons provided if needed
